Because satellite internet providers can offer you web access in places where DSL, cable, and other wired IP systems can't...
like on a construction site, far far away...
or out in the wilderness, shooting a movie...
or maybe in an aeroplane over the sea...
you'd need satellites to get online in any of those places...
